Last Friday, Silvia participated as an invited speaker in the English Studies 2026: Discourse and Society international student conference, where she delivered a workshop entitled Social actors in news reports on abortion: how to analyse them and why they matter.
The session introduced the DARE project and focused on the social actor analysis framework. Participants engaged with practical examples from European mainstream news outlets to explore how different social actor representations can help normalising or countering abortion stigma.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to share the project’s approach and to engage with students in an interactive and interdisciplinary setting.
