Over the past weeks, Silvia has been carrying out a research secondment at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she has been collaborating with Lorella Viola on a joint publication related to the project. This stay has provided an excellent opportunity to advance our work through close collaboration, as well as to engage in stimulating academic discussions within an interdisciplinary environment merging Digital Humanities and Critical Discourse Studies.

A key moment of the secondment has been the presentation of our collaborative study and preliminary findings at the VU Global History Lunchtime Seminar, hosted by the Department of History. Presenting the research in this context made it possible to receive valuable feedback from historians and to discuss the project from perspectives that extend beyond Critical Discourse Studies.

In addition to the academic activities, the secondment also offered the opportunity to experience the wider intellectual and social environment of the university and the city. In fact, Silvia took part in the International Women’s Day march, an event that resonates strongly with project DARE.

Overall, this secondment has been a highly enriching experience, contributing both to the development of the research and to broader reflections on interdisciplinarity and academic collaboration.
